WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE’RE ABOUT

The PFPF is a small, private, non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted and homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats from a myriad of situations including abandonment, surrender, neglect and abuse.

We are a strict “no kill” organization and to this end we maintain a private sanctuary where we provide constant care for cats with long term illnesses, temperament issues or other circumstances that make them harder to find their forever homes. We believe that every cat is adoptable but finding that wonderful person with a big, big heart who will take on a lifetime responsibility and truly save a life is more difficult than you can probably imagine. We are optimists and want to believe that these wonderful adopters are out there somewhere…

With every adoption we make or even every person who we talk to we always endeavor to educate the pubic about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for their cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Lastly, and as our finances allow, we support special feral/colony cat rescue efforts such as the Amissville Landfill & Recycling Center Project, aka, CANT (Cats are Not Trash). We have rescued over 25 cats from this area and found them good and loving forever homes. We also donated a building for the cats to shelter in and raised over $5,000 to have two more shelters built on site.
