The PFPF is a small, private, non-profit, ALL volunteer run organization founded in 2008. When we started this rescue fifteen years ago we were the ONLY cat specific rescue in a three county area! Today we are just one of several which is a wonderful thing!
To this day we have always been, devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted and homeless cats but today we focus primarily on the cats that are “more difficult” to rehome. We believe that simply because a cat is “difficult to home” should NEVER be a reason for ending it’s life!
We rescue cats from a myriad of situations including abandonment, surrender, neglect and abuse. We also take in FIV+ cats and work extremely hard to educate the public about this very misunderstood virus. Unfortunately, there are still rescues that refuse to help these cats because they are harder to adopt!
We maintain a private sanctuary where we provide constant care for cats with long term illnesses, temperament issues or other circumstances that make them harder to find their forever homes. We believe that EVERY cat is adoptable but finding that wonderful person with a big, big heart who will take on a lifetime responsibility and truly save a life is more difficult than you can probably imagine.
With every adoption we make or even every person who we talk to we always endeavor to educate the pubic about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for their cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. We are always available to help out the families or individuals that have adopted a cat from us.
